My New Books

Its been a long time since I bought technical books (around two months). So I dusted my baseball cap and t-shirt, kick started my bike and speeded to T-Nagar to purchase some books. In my mind I had decided to purchase "Professional Java Security" from Wrox publications. But the book shop didn't have a copy of the same.

So I scanned the entire Java and Linux section of the book shop. My eye caught "Version Control With Subversion" and "High Performance Linux Clusters". Bought them both.

Recently got hold of Cluster Knoppix. Thus my interest in Clustering. Also rumor of my company's production server moving from HP SuperDome to RedHat cluster solutions had caught my fancy.

As for "Subversion", it is a Version Control System, developed to use like CVS, but without CVS's bugs and misfeatures. So wanted to desperately try it. Also I have used CVS sparcely. Wanted to have a thorough understanding of atleast one versioning system.

Wiz of Indi?

Wiz Of Indi? What on earth does that mean?

Well, from my childhood I have been fascinated by wizadary. When I read the book "The Wizard Of Oz", my faith in the power which belonged to me increased. And I got to believe that you don't need to be a wizard to do wizadary!

Then I was introduced to the concept of programming. I was so much fascinated by this. It reinforced my belief in Wizadary... I wrote a baby C program, he took a life form and said to the world, "Hello, World!". I bundled my accountancy academics to pursue software studies...

Then came the explosion of the web. I needed to have a web site. I threw a round table meeting with my friends (Babu, Karthick, Manivannan). I wanted to have the site as subWiz.com. But I was too late.... Then in the discussion that followed, we decided on the name indiWiz.com. Thus I became the Wiz Of Indi.
